How to Claim a Vermont Lottery Prize
The claiming process depends on the size of the prize:
- Up to $499: Winners can claim at an authorized Vermont Lottery retailer or at Vermont Lottery Headquarters. The winning ticket must be signed and validated.
- $500 to $5,000: Prizes can be claimed at any M&T Bank location in Vermont during Lottery office business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding state holidays.
- More than $5,000: Winners must claim their prize in person at Vermont Lottery Headquarters. A signed ticket, government-issued photo ID and completed claim form are required.
All prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

What Is Vermont Lottery Second Chance?
Vermont’s 2nd Chance program gives players another shot at winning after buying an eligible non-winning instant scratch ticket. Instead of tossing the losing ticket, players can enter it into a second-chance drawing for a chance to win cash or other prizes.
Players need to register through the Vermont Lottery’s official website or app. Second-chance drawings are generally held quarterly or as part of special promotions and take place at Pollard Banknote Limited in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
