How to claim a Vermont Lottery prize

Prize-claim rules depend on the amount won:

  • Up to $499: Winners can claim prizes at an authorized Vermont Lottery retailer or at Vermont Lottery Headquarters. The winning ticket must be signed and presented for validation.
  • $500 to $5,000: These prizes can be claimed at any M&T Bank location in Vermont during the Lottery Office’s regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding state holidays.
  • More than $5,000: Winners must claim the prize in person at Vermont Lottery Headquarters. A signed winning ticket, government-issued photo ID and completed claim form are required.

All claims must be submitted within one year of the drawing date.

What is Vermont Lottery Second Chance?

Vermont’s 2nd Chance Lottery gives players another opportunity to win after purchasing eligible non-winning instant scratch tickets. Players can enter qualifying tickets into drawings for cash and other prizes.

To participate, players need to register through the Vermont Lottery’s official website or app. Second Chance drawings are generally held quarterly or as part of special promotions, with drawings conducted by Pollard Banknote Limited in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
