How to Claim a Vermont Lottery Prize
The claim process depends on the size of the prize:
- Up to $499: Winners can claim at an authorized Vermont Lottery retailer or at Vermont Lottery Headquarters with a signed winning ticket.
- $500 to $5,000: Prizes can be claimed at any M&T Bank location in Vermont during Lottery office hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding state holidays.
- More than $5,000: Winners must claim the prize in person at Vermont Lottery Headquarters. A signed ticket, government-issued photo ID and completed claim form are required.
Lottery prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

What Is Vermont Lottery Second Chance?
Players with eligible non-winning instant scratch tickets may have another opportunity through Vermont's 2nd Chance Lottery. Instead of simply throwing away a losing ticket, players can enter it into a drawing for a chance to win cash or other prizes.
Registration is required through the Vermont Lottery's official website or app. Second Chance drawings are generally held quarterly or as part of special promotions. The drawings are conducted by Pollard Banknote Limited in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
