In a recent interview, Vice President Kamala Harris firmly rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin's claim that Ukraine was involved in the deadly attack in Moscow. ABC News Senior Congressional Correspondent Rachel Scott asked Harris about the accusation, to which Harris responded, "No." She emphasized that the incident was an act of terrorism and expressed condolences to the families affected.
Harris stated, "No, there is no, whatsoever, any evidence, and in fact, what we know to be the case is that ISIS-K is actually, by all accounts, responsible for what happened." This assertion contradicts Putin's claim and aligns with the understanding that ISIS-K claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred at Moscow Crocus City Hall and resulted in at least 133 deaths, with 121 people remaining hospitalized.
Putin, in response to the attack, vowed "retribution" against those responsible and suggested that Ukraine bore some responsibility. However, Harris' stance, as articulated in the interview, does not support this assertion.
ABC News will air Scott's full interview with Harris on Sunday morning on "This Week."
