Virginia Player Hits $2M Powerball Jackpot; Richmond Wawa Scores $10K Bonus

A lucky Virginia player just scored a cool $2 million thanks to Saturday night’s Powerball! The winning ticket was bought at the Wawa on 7316 Forest Hill Avenue in Richmond. The draw on October 25 featured the numbers 2-12-22-39-67, with a Powerball of 15. This lucky player matched the first five numbers and, thanks to adding the $1 Power Play option, doubled their usual $1 million prize to $2 million.

Interestingly, this was the only ticket in Virginia to hit the first five numbers and one of just two across the entire country. No one hit all six numbers, leaving Monday’s jackpot soaring to an estimated $358 million.

The Virginia Lottery recommends that winners sign the back of their ticket immediately to secure ownership and reminds winners they have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize. Meanwhile, the Richmond Wawa that sold the ticket gets a $10,000 bonus—a nice little bonus for the store!

Powerball draws happen Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 25—so every ticket has a shot at something exciting.

All profits from the Virginia Lottery go straight to K-12 education. Last fiscal year alone, Richmond schools received over $22.5 million, and statewide contributions topped $901 million in 2025.
