Maryland Man Wins $50,000 for the Second Time in 2026 After Lucky Lottery Ticket

Winning $50,000 is something most Lottery players only dream about. But one man from Waldorf, Maryland, has now pulled it off twice in the same year.

His latest win came after a Bonus Match 5 Quick Pick ticket matched all five winning numbers in the July 17, 2026, drawing. He recently visited Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim his second $50,000 prize of the year.

What makes the story even more incredible is that this wasn't his first major Lottery success in 2026. Earlier in the year, the longtime player also won $50,000 through a Maryland Lottery second-chance promotion.

The Charles County resident has been playing Lottery games for more than 20 years. While Multi-Match is usually his favorite game, he decided to switch things up and buy a Bonus Match 5 Quick Pick ticket—and that decision paid off in a big way.

After the drawing, he scanned his ticket and saw a familiar message indicating he had won a prize.

"I knew that meant I had won something," he said. "I just didn't know how much."

He soon found out the prize amount at the retailer.

The winner rushed home to share the exciting news with his wife and has only told a small group of close family members so far.
