Woman Thinks She Won $10,000—Then Learns She Hit a $634,679 Jackpot
Margaret Sheppard, 65, got the kind of lottery surprise most people only dream about.
Sheppard stopped at a store to buy a Powerball ticket for the big jackpot. On a whim, she also picked up a Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket. When she checked it in the store, she realized she had hit the jackpot—but made a major mistake about how much she had won.
She looked at the Fast Cash jackpot sign and figured her prize was $10,000.
She told the clerk she had won but said she was disappointed because she thought she had just missed a jackpot worth more than $600,000. Then the clerk checked her ticket and delivered the incredible news: She had actually won $634,679!
“I thought I was going to have a heart attack,” Sheppard recalled.
The clerk even walked her to her car after the shocking revelation. Sheppard signed the ticket and immediately called her husband to share the good news.
According to Michigan Lottery Connect, Sheppard already has plans for her unexpected windfall:
- 🏠 Put some of the money toward home improvements
- 🎢 Take her grandchildren to Disney World
What started as a casual extra ticket turned into a life-changing $634,679 win.
