Beyoncé Unveils 'Cowboy Carter': A Closer Look at Her Upcoming Country Music Venture

Beyoncé unveiled the title of her highly anticipated upcoming album, "Cowboy Carter," on her website, setting the stage for its release on March 29. This country music project serves as the long-awaited "Act II" of her 2022 "Renaissance" album.

Fans have eagerly awaited new music from Beyoncé since the release of "Renaissance" in 2022, the first installment of a promised "three-act project." Rumors swirled about potential dance and country tracks, but "Renaissance" leaned heavily into dance and house music, celebrating the Black queer community and club culture.

Two singles have already dropped from "Cowboy Carter": "16 Carriages" and the chart-topping "Texas Hold ‘Em." The latter not only secured the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 but also marked Beyoncé's first No. 1 country single in the U.S., making her the first Black woman to achieve this feat.

Beyoncé's website features a striking image of a horse saddle with a red, white, and blue sash that reads "Country Carter." The merchandise lineup includes limited edition CDs with alternative cover photos featuring half of Beyoncé's face, along with vinyl variants in red, white, blue, and black. Box set editions boast a bonus track and T-shirts emblazoned with the album title.

"Cowboy Carter" follows Beyoncé's record-breaking world tour, which grossed an astounding $579 million. It also comes on the heels of "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé," a part-documentary, part-concert film that offers an intimate look behind the scenes of her global trek. Beyoncé surprised fans with the release of "My House," a track celebrating her Houston roots, shortly after the film's London premiere, teasing the country music vibes to come on "Cowboy Carter."
