Weezer has announced their upcoming tour, The Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, commonly known as the Blue Album. The tour will feature Weezer performing the Blue Album in its entirety each night, along with a selection of other popular songs and rare tracks. Special guests The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. will join Weezer on tour, adding to the excitement and offering fans a memorable musical experience.
Tickets for The Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time, with pre-sales for fan club members starting Wednesday at 9 a.m. Weezer expressed their enthusiasm for the tour on Instagram, inviting fans to join them on this musical journey. The tour will kick off on Sept. 4 in St. Paul, Minn., and will conclude on Oct. 11 in Los Angeles. In addition to the tour dates, Weezer will also perform a special Blue Album show at The Lodge Room in Los Angeles.
The Blue Album, released by Weezer in May 1994, features some of the band's most iconic hits, including "Undone -- The Sweater Song," "Buddy Holly," and "Say It Ain't So." Weezer's most recent album, Van Weezer, was released in 2021, continuing the band's legacy of delivering exciting and memorable music to their fans. With the announcement of The Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour, Weezer fans have a lot to look forward to as they celebrate the 30th anniversary of this landmark album.
