The legal saga between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt over their French winery, Château Miraval, is reaching new heights. Jolie's team recently filed a motion seeking crucial documents and evidence to support their claim that Pitt refused to buy her share of the winery without her agreeing to sign a comprehensive NDA. They argue that this NDA was meant to conceal Pitt's history of abuse and control, which Jolie has been vocal about in the past.
In response, Pitt's lawyers have requested Jolie to disclose any other NDAs she might have entered into, including those with her personal staff, suggesting that this information could be vital in understanding the nature of the NDA Pitt requested.
The legal back-and-forth also touches on Jolie's attempt to sell her company, Nouvel, to Tenute Del Mondo, which would effectively transfer her ownership interest in Miraval. Pitt has claimed that this move breached a contract between them and has filed a suit against Jolie, seeking damages and declaring the sale null and void.
The situation has been further complicated by allegations from both sides. Jolie's company accuses Pitt of a "vindictive campaign" to "loot" the business, while Pitt's team argues that Jolie's refusal to produce other NDAs she signed or requested could undermine her defenses.
Despite their lengthy history and a custody trial that ended with a 50/50 custody arrangement, the legal battle between Pitt and Jolie shows no signs of abating. A hearing on disclosure is scheduled for May 16, with a full trial unlikely to occur this year.
The former couple, who were married for two years and together for 12, have been embroiled in a contentious divorce since 2016. Their ownership of Château Miraval, once a symbol of their shared life, has now become a focal point in their legal dispute.
