Rebel Wilson has taken to Instagram to reveal the identity of the Hollywood star who has been trying to stop her from publishing her upcoming memoir, "Rebel Rising." In a bold move, she named Sasha Baron Cohen as the person behind the threats.
The Australian actress had previously hinted at the situation, describing the individual as a "massive a**hole" from her past work experiences. She mentioned that after announcing her intention to dedicate a chapter of her memoir to exposing his behavior, he had hired a crisis PR team and began sending her threats.
In her recent Instagram post on March 25, Wilson asserted her determination not to be silenced or bullied by legal or PR tactics. She stated, "The 'a**hole' that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is Sasha Baron Cohen."
Wilson and Baron Cohen had shared the screen in the 2016 film "The Brothers Grimsby." However, their professional relationship seems to have been strained, with Wilson recounting an incident from the set where Baron Cohen allegedly pressured her to perform a naked scene. Wilson claimed she stood her ground and insisted on a body double for the scene, despite Baron Cohen's persistence.
Additionally, Wilson recalled a disturbing request made by Baron Cohen during the filming of the final scene of "Grimsby." She claimed he asked her to "Stick your finger up my butt," a request that was not part of the script. Wilson expressed her discomfort with the request, highlighting a troubling interaction between the two on set.
Wilson's decision to speak out against Baron Cohen's alleged behavior has sparked interest, with many eager to hear her side of the story. Variety has reached out to Baron Cohen's publicists for comment, but as of now, there has been no response. Despite the threats and attempts to halt the publication of her memoir, Wilson remains steadfast in her resolve to share her truth with the world.
