Storm Reid, the talented actress known for her role in "Euphoria," recently commented on the show's production delay. HBO announced that filming for Season 3, created by Sam Levinson, has been temporarily halted. Despite this setback, Reid remains optimistic about the show's future and hopes that fans will eventually get to see the completed season.
Speaking at the opening of USC’s School of Dramatic Arts’ Drama Center in Los Angeles, Reid expressed her gratitude for the audience's support, saying, "I would hope the viewers, the audience will be able to finish the show. I think we should handle the show with care. We’ve put our hearts and soul into it."
When asked about her reaction to the delay, Reid admitted, "Yes and no. We would all hope to be able to go back tomorrow, but there are logistics that have to be figured out. So even though I’m a little disappointed, I’m not surprised."
Reid also emphasized the show’s impact, particularly its portrayal of addiction and mental health issues, stating, "I do know if we do go back that I am sure we will continue to be authentic and represent the real world."
Reid plays Gia, the sister of Zendaya’s character, Rue, on the series. The show has garnered attention for its talented cast, which includes Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer. Despite facing delays due to the Hollywood strikes and the tragic passing of co-star Angus Cloud, who played Fez, the series has continued to captivate audiences.
HBO had previously confirmed that Season 3 of "Euphoria" was set to premiere in 2025. The show has been a critical success, with Zendaya winning two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for her performance, and Colman Domingo also receiving an Emmy win. "Euphoria" received an Emmy nomination for outstanding drama series in 2022 for its second season.
