Broncos to Honor 1977 Team and Hall of Famers in Week 5 Showdown Against Raiders

Written by Published

The Denver Broncos are planning a special celebration for Week 5, and it's going to be a big one! At halftime of their game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the entire 1977 team will be honored. This was the team that made history by reaching the franchise's first Super Bowl, even though they ultimately lost to the Dallas Cowboys 27-10 in Super Bowl XII.

In addition to celebrating the whole team, the Broncos will unveil steel pillars for safety Steve Foley and tight end Riley Odoms, who were recently elected to the Ring of Fame. It's going to be an exciting Alumni Weekend, with linebacker Randy Gradishar also being honored. Gradishar, a key player from the 1977 team, is set to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame this August.

You might also catch a glimpse of the Broncos' "1977 classic" throwback uniforms, which they revealed earlier this year. Given the historical significance and the fierce rivalry with the Raiders, it seems likely they'll debut these throwbacks in Week 5.

Don't miss out on this nostalgic trip down memory lane, happening at Empower Field at Mile High on October 6! It's a perfect opportunity to celebrate some of the greatest moments and players in Broncos history.
