Valentin Moldavsky made quite the entrance at the PFL 1 event, delivering a dominant performance against Ante Delija for a first-round victory. The fight took place in San Antonio, headlining the event at the Boeing Center at Tech Port.

Moldavsky, with a record of 13-3, wasted no time, finishing Delija (24-6) with a flurry of punches just 2 minutes and 17 seconds into the first round. With the legendary Fedor Emelianenko in his corner, Moldavsky showcased his striking skills, keeping the pressure on Delija.

Despite signs of discomfort from Delija, including glancing at his corner, Moldavsky kept up the assault. He relentlessly pushed forward, landing punch after punch until Delija was forced to cover up against the cage. Referee Jacob Montalvo stepped in to stop the fight, declaring Moldavsky the winner.

This victory earned Moldavsky six points in the heavyweight regular season standings, catapulting him to the top of the division. Moldavsky, 32, is a former Bellator interim heavyweight champion, boasting a 7-2 record before joining the PFL.

On the other hand, Delija, 33, had his five-fight winning streak come to an end. Despite being the 2022 heavyweight champion, he only competed once in the 2023 season due to injury, and this loss adds to his recent setbacks.

Moldavsky's performance was nothing short of impressive, setting a high standard for the rest of the season. His strategic approach, combined with his powerful striking, makes him a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division.
