Bergen County Honors First Responders With World Cup Ticket Lottery

Written by Published

Bergen County first responders now have a unique chance to score free tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A special lottery will award 25 pairs of tickets to eligible police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel who live and serve in Bergen County. Winners will get the opportunity to attend one of three World Cup matches at New Jersey New York Stadium in East Rutherford.

Available Match Tickets:

  • Panama vs. England (Group Stage) – June 27
  • Round of 32 Match – June 30
  • Round of 16 Match – July 5

The ticket giveaway is part of a statewide effort to help New Jersey residents experience one of the world's biggest sporting events. Governor Mikie Sherrill recently announced that 750 complimentary World Cup tickets would be distributed across communities throughout the state.

Officials say the program is a way to recognize the dedication of first responders, who will play a major role in keeping residents and visitors safe during the tournament.

Because Bergen County will host eight World Cup matches, including the championship final, local public safety personnel are expected to be heavily involved throughout the event. County leaders described the ticket opportunity as a small but meaningful way to thank them for their service and commitment.
