A Canadian lottery player is waking up to a life-changing $55 million jackpot after hitting all seven winning numbers in the Lotto Max draw on Friday, August 21.
The winning numbers were 01, 04, 15, 18, 24, 25 and 51, with bonus number 13. According to PlayNow, the jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Quebec.
Here’s a quick look at the other big prizes:
- Second prize: Two Alberta tickets split the prize, with each winner receiving $99,964.40.
- Third prize: 45 winners shared the prize, taking home $4,526.90 each.
- Maxmillions: Four $1 million prizes were available, but none were won.
- MaxPlus: Four winning tickets were sold in Quebec, three in Ontario, two in British Columbia and one in Edmonton, Alberta, for prizes worth $100,000 each.
A British Columbia player also scored a $500,000 Lotto Max Extra Prize. Meanwhile, nobody won the $1 million Encore prize in Ontario.
The previous Lotto Max jackpot winner came on July 24, when an Ontario player claimed a $25 million top prize.
Lotto Max: Next Draw
The next Lotto Max drawing is set for Tuesday, August 25, with an estimated jackpot of $10 million.
Lotto 6/49 Also Produces Big Winners
The same night brought another major Canadian lottery win. An Alberta player landed the $1 million Gold Ball prize in Lotto 6/49 after matching the winning number 30526413-01. The winning ticket was purchased in Calgary.
No one won the $16 million top prize or the $5 million Classic Draw jackpot. However, an Alberta ticket took the $158,661.90 second prize, while 66 winners split the third prize, receiving $1,009.40 each.
There were also Extra Prize winners, with an Alberta player claiming $250,000. No one in British Columbia won the $500,000 Classic Draw Extra, and Ontario had no $1 million Encore winner.
The next Lotto 6/49 draw will take place on Wednesday, August 26, with the jackpot climbing to $18 million.
