A Powerball player in Lena is celebrating a $150,000 win after hitting a big prize in the Saturday, August 22 drawing, according to the Wisconsin Lottery.
The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Trip, 5908 Duame Road in Lena. It matched four of the five winning numbers — 13, 31, 54, 57 and 65 — along with the Powerball number 23.
The ticket also had the $1 Power Play option, which made a huge difference. The original $50,000 prize was tripled to $150,000 when a 3X multiplier was drawn.
Another Big Win for the Same Store
This isn't the first major lottery win for the Lena Kwik Trip this year. Back in May, the store sold a $31,000 Badger 5 jackpot-winning ticket.
For the August 22 Powerball drawing, 7,943 Wisconsin tickets won prizes, ranging from $4 to $150,000. Powerball features nine different prize levels.
Important: The winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the $150,000 prize.
The retailer will also get a bonus for selling the winning ticket. Wisconsin Lottery retailers receive a 2% Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive for winning tickets worth more than $599, up to $100,000. For this $150,000 ticket, that works out to a $3,000 incentive.
The odds of winning a $50,000 Powerball prize are about 1 in 913,130. With the $1 Power Play option, the odds of a 3X multiplier being selected for the August 22 drawing were 1 in 3.4.
