Massachusetts Lottery: Two Players Win $1 Million Prizes on Friday

Two Massachusetts Lottery players hit $1 million prizes on Friday, making it a big day for local lottery fans.

The winning tickets came from the $25,000,000 Mega Money and 100X instant games. One was purchased at 200 Food Mart in Quincy, while the other was sold at Village Liquor & Mini Mart in Baldwinville, one of Templeton’s four main villages.

Here’s a quick look at the big wins:

  • $1 million Mega Money prize: Six of the 12 top prizes available at launch have now been claimed. The odds were 1 in 2.1 million.
  • $1 million 100X prize: Three of the nine top prizes have been claimed so far. The odds were 1 in 1.57 million.
  • Ticket prices: Mega Money tickets cost $50, while 100X tickets are $10.

There was another major win Friday, too. A player scored $470,915 through Timber Wolf, one of the Massachusetts Lottery’s newer online games.

In total, at least 960 prizes worth $600 or more were claimed or won across Massachusetts that day. Boston accounted for 52 of those prizes, while Worcester had 18 and Springfield had 14.

The Massachusetts State Lottery publishes a daily list of winning tickets worth more than $600.

So far this year, the biggest Massachusetts Lottery prize claimed was $25 million. That winning Mega Money ticket was sold at a Cumberland Farms gas station in Turners Falls, the largest of Montague’s five villages.

With several big prizes still out there, Massachusetts lottery players will have plenty to watch in the coming days.
