Prince Harry is set to discuss his father, King Charles's health, in an upcoming television interview on Good Morning America. This interview marks his first public appearance since the King postponed his public duties due to a cancer diagnosis. The exact type of cancer has not been disclosed, but it has been confirmed that it is not prostate cancer. King Charles discovered the cancer while undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate in January. As a result, he has temporarily paused his public-facing duties to focus on treatment, with other senior royals stepping in to fulfill his responsibilities.
Prince Harry flew to the UK alone to visit his father after the announcement of the King's health condition. His visit, less than 24 hours after the announcement, included a brief 45-minute meeting with King Charles at Clarence House. Notably, there was no reported meeting between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, during this visit.
In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, moved to the US after stepping back as senior members of the royal family. Since then, they have been involved in various projects, including the relaunch of their foundation's website, now known as the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They have also been active in supporting causes such as the Invictus Games.
The couple recently visited the training camp for the 2025 Invictus Games, where Prince Harry participated in a sit-ski event, a new addition to the games. Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Charles will be attending the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) film awards in London, with Prince William attending his first high-profile royal engagement since the King's cancer diagnosis and the Duchess's surgery. Princess Diana underwent abdominal surgery on 16 January and has since returned home to be with their three children. Since the health announcements, Prince William has attended few events.
