Quincy Man Wins $1 Million in Massachusetts Lottery Scratch-Off Game
A Quincy man got an especially fitting surprise after one of the winning words on his lottery ticket turned out to be his own nickname.
Jakkrit Likhitpanyawat, known as “Tan,” won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s $10 “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” scratch-off game. He claimed the prize on Monday, August 3, 2026, taking home the ninth of 10 available $1 million prizes.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Lucky Quick Pik, 19 Beale St. in Quincy, which will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Likhitpanyawat chose a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes instead of receiving $50,000 per year for 20 years. He told lottery officials that he plans to invest his winnings.
Adding to the fun, one of the winning words on his ticket was “Tan,” making the win feel even more personal.
