A 61-year-old Russian man was recently detained by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) for allegedly planning a terrorist attack on behalf of Ukraine.
The FSB reported the man's arrest, stating he was planning the attack on a Trans-Siberian railway junction in the Ural mountains’ Sverdlovsk region. According to TASS, the man was recruited by Kyiv’s intelligence services in Lviv, Ukraine, and sent to Russia. He has reportedly confessed to the charges and is cooperating with the investigation.
In recent times, Ukraine has been more active in targeting economic sites inside Russia. Using long-range drones, they have attacked several oil refineries in the western part of the country. Additionally, Kyiv has expressed interest in targeting the Trans-Siberian railway, which is a crucial route for Russian freight across the nation.
