Two lucky Texans are celebrating major lottery wins after claiming a combined $6 million in Texas Lottery scratch-off prizes.
One Houston resident took home an impressive $5 million, while another winner from Kilgore secured a $1 million prize. Both players purchased winning scratch-off tickets from local retailers and chose to remain anonymous.
Houston Player Wins $5 Million
A Houston resident claimed a $5 million top prize from the Texas Lottery's $5 Million Titanium Black scratch-off game.
The winning ticket was purchased at Super K, located at 5860 San Felipe St. in Houston.
According to the Texas Lottery, this was the second of four $5 million top prizes claimed in the game. Players have overall odds of 1 in 3.89 of winning any prize, with rewards starting at $150.
Kilgore Resident Takes Home $1 Million
Another lucky player from Kilgore scored a $1 million top prize playing the Texas Lottery's Millionaire scratch-off game.
The winning ticket was sold at Murphy USA #7802, located at 1209 Southport Road in Kilgore.
This marks the first of four available $1 million top prizes claimed in the game. Like the Houston winner, the Kilgore player also chose to keep their identity private.
Big Lottery Jackpots Make Headlines
These Texas scratch-off wins come amid major developments in the national lottery scene. The latest Powerball jackpot run ended Wednesday night when a player in New Jersey matched all the winning numbers to claim the grand prize.
Before that win, the combined jackpots for Powerball and Mega Millions had climbed to an impressive $1.3 billion, creating plenty of excitement among lottery players.
